Publications Ethics

Nature: National Academic Journal of Architecture is a journal that publishes scientific articles in the field of architecture included Local Design and Wisdom. Articles published in Nature include the results of original scientific research (top priority), recent scientific review articles (not priority), or comments or critics on the writing in Nature.

The code ethics of scientific statement is a statement of all parts involved in the publication process of Nature: National Academic Journal of Architecture includes managers, editors, bestari partners, and writers. This code ethic of scientific publications statement is based on the Head of LIPI Regulation Number 5 of 2014 concerning the Code Ethics for Scientific Publication. The ethics of scientific publications upholds three ethical values in publication, they are (i) Neutrality, which is free from conflicts of needs in the management of publications; (ii) Justice, which gives authorship rights to those who are as authors / writers; and (iii) Honesty, which is free from Duplication, Fabrication, Falsification, and Plagiarism (DF2P) in publications.

Journal Managers’ Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Determine the name of the journal, scope of science, scale, and submission of accreditation if necessary. Determine the membership of the editorial board.
  2. Define relationships between publishers, editors, bestari partners, and other parts in a contract.
  3. Respect confidential matters, both for contributing researchers, authors / writers, editors, and bestari partners.
  4. Apply norms and provisions regarding intellectual property rights, especially copyright.
  5. Perform journal policy review and submit it to authors / writers, board editors, bestari partners, and readers.
  6. Make guidelines for rules and behavioral ethics for editors and bestari partners.
  7. Publish journals regularly.
  8. Guarantee the availability of funding sources for the sustainability of journal publishing.
  9.  Build a cooperative work between  research institutions and related agencies
  10. Prepare licenses and other legal aspects.

Editor's Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Bring together the readers and writers needs, Striving to improve the quality of publications sustainably,
  2. Apply the process to guarantee the quality of published papers,
  3. Prioritize the freedom in giving opinion objectively,
  4. Maintain the integrity of the author academic track record,
  5. Convey corrections, clarifications, and apologies if needed,
  6. Responsible for the style and form of scientific writing, while the contents and all statements in the paper are the author responsibility,
  7. Actively ask the opinions of writers, readers, bestari partners, and members of the editorial board to improve the quality of publications,
  8. Conduct internal evaluations periodically toward  the scientific journals quality
  9. Support the author's initiative in the publication ethics by enclosing the clearance form in every script submission
  10. Open minded toward new opinions or other views that might conflict with personal opinions for science improving,
  11. Avoid objective decisions without maintaining your own opinions, authors or third party by finding solutions that can be scientifically accounted for,
  12. Encourage the writer to re-correct the paper until it is worth publishing.

Reviewer’s  Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Review the paper and submit the results of the review to the editor, as material for determining the feasibility of a paper to be published,
  2. The reviewer does not carry out a scientific review of a paper involving himself, either directly or indirectly,
  3. Provide positive suggestions, input and recommendations for scripts of scientific papers,
  4. Maintain the author privacy without disseminating the results of corrections, suggestions, and recommendations on a script,
  5. Encourage writers to make improvements toward their papers,
  6. Review the corrected paper according to predetermined standards,
  7. Papers are reviewed on time according to the style of the publication published based on scientific rules (methods of data collection, legality of the author, conclusions, etc.) that have been determined.

Author's Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Ensure that what is included in the list of authors has met the criteria as a writer,
  2. Collectively responsible for work and the contents of the article include methods, analysis, calculations, and details.
  3. State the origin of resources (including funding), both directly and indirectly.
  4. Explain limitations in research.
  5. Respond to the comments made by bestari partners and editorial boards in a professional scientific and on time.
  6. Inform writingly to the editor if you will retract the paper.
  7. Make a statement that the paper submitted for publication is genuine, and has never been published anywhere and in any language, and is not in the process of being submitted to another publisher.
