The Notary Supervisory Council is an institution or a legal entity that has the authority to supervise and provide guidance to notary positions. In Law Number 2 of 2014 concerning the Notary Position Article 69, it explains that in conducting supervision the Notary Supervisory Council has supervisory duties up to the regional level which is then called the Regional Supervisory Council. To find out more deeply, the author decided to conduct research in Takalar Regency related to the role of this institution using empirical juridical methods. Abdul Samad Sultan, S.H., M.kn in the interview process on March 20, 2023, as the deputy chairman of the Takalar Regional Supervisory Assembly said that the supervisory role carried out by the Regional Supervisory Assembly has generally been going well, namely by reminding and controlling the performance of a notary and being responsible for making notaries carry out their duties in accordance with the regulations and code of ethics of their position. Because violations committed by unscrupulous notaries will not only damage the value of this profession, but will also have an impact on the people who will use their services. The suggestion from this research is that the Notary Supervisory Council must more often and actively conduct socialization to the public regarding the rules for carrying out the duties of the Notary position so that the supervision carried out by the Notary Supervisory Council can be carried out in an integrated, intensive and strict manner.
