Upon submission, the Managing Editor conducts an initial screening regarding scope compliance, formatting requirements, structural completeness, and citation style. Manuscripts are checked for plagiarism via Turnitin (maximum overall similarity index threshold is 25%, with a maximum of 3% from any single source). Out-of-scope, incomplete, or heavily plagiarized papers will face an immediate desk rejection before peer assignment.

Manuscripts that pass desk screening are anonymized and assigned to at least two independent peer reviewers who are qualified experts in the specific domain of Islamic studies. Reviewers critically assess academic novelty, methodological rigor, objectivity of data discussion, clarity of conclusions, relevance of literature, and ethical compliance. The standard review period is 2 to 4 weeks.

Based on peer review reports and recommendation scores, the Section Editor and Editor-in-Chief formulate a final publishing decision. The possible outcomes are: (a) Accept Submission without changes, (b) Revisions Required (minor modifications), (c) Resubmit for Review (major revisions requiring a second review round), or (d) Reject Submission.

Authors must submit their revised manuscript along with a point-by-point Response to Reviewers Matrix within the allocated deadline. Once the Editor verifies that all requested changes are satisfied, the article undergoes copyediting, layout typesetting, DOI assignment, proofreading approval, and formal online publication.

Evaluates whether the study presents new empirical findings, innovative theoretical insights, or fresh critical interpretations that advance classical Islamic studies and contemporary multidisciplinary discourses. The research gap and state-of-the-art must be clearly justified in the introduction.

Assesses the appropriateness, transparency, and logical consistency of the research design. Reviewers verify whether qualitative frameworks, quantitative data, or textual/hermeneutical analyses of Islamic primary sources are executed with scientific rigor and epistemological clarity.

Checks whether references are up-to-date, relevant, and comprehensive. At least 80% of citations must consist of recent peer-reviewed scientific journal articles (published within the last 5–10 years), formatted using Chicago Manual of Style (Full Note) footnotes with active DOIs included where available.

Determines whether the findings are interpreted thoroughly in light of existing scholarly literature. The discussion must highlight the theoretical, practical, or social implications of the research, while the conclusion clearly summarizes core outcomes and limitations.

Ensures the manuscript is written in clear, concise, and grammatically correct academic English or Indonesian. The article must follow standard academic reporting conventions, proper paragraph transitions, and journal template formatting guidelines.
