Pengaruh PDRB Dan Pengangguran Terhadap Ipm Melalui Kemiskinan di Provinsi Sulawesi Selatan

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) and unemployment rate on the Human Development Index (HDI) in South Sulawesi Province, with poverty rate as an intervening variable. The data used is time series data from 2009 to 2023 obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS). The analysis method employed is multiple linear regression and path analysis, using the EViews 12 software. The results show that GRDP has a negative and significant effect on poverty, while the unemployment rate has a positive and significant effect on poverty. Furthermore, GRDP also has a positive and significant effect on HDI, while the unemployment rate and poverty do not have a significant effect on HDI. The indirect effects of GRDP and unemployment on HDI through poverty are also found to be insignificant. These findings indicate that economic growth alone is not sufficient to improve human development if not accompanied by a more equitable reduction in poverty and unemployment.
