Abstract
The marriage rate in Indonesia has decreased significantly in recent years, which shows changes in people's behavioral patterns. This research aims to analyze the role of open mindedness in reducing marriage rates in Indonesia. Using a qualitative approach, data was collected through interviews and text analysis from various related sources. The results of the analysis show that cultural shifts and more open-minded social values have influenced people's perceptions of the institution of marriage. Societies that are more open to variations in lifestyle, sexual preferences, and non-traditional relationship patterns tend to postpone or avoid conventional marriage. Additionally, economic factors, education, and urbanization also play an important role in these changes. This research concludes that a more open understanding of various life choices could trigger a decline in marriage rates in Indonesia. The implications of these findings underscore the importance of understanding changes in social values and attitudes in the context of future public policy and social planning.
