Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh jumlah penduduk, rasio ketergantungan, dan Indeks Pembangunan Manusia terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi di Provinsi Sumatera Utara pada periode 2011–2025. Penelitian memakai regresi linier berganda dengan estimasi Ordinary Least Squares (OLS). Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa besarnya jumlah penduduk berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap laju pertumbuhan ekonomi; rasio ketergantungan memiliki pengaruh negatif yang signifikan; sedangkan Indeks Pembangunan Manusia juga menunjukkan pengaruh yang berarti terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi. Ketiga variabel tersebut secara simultan terbukti memberi pengaruh signifikan terhadap pertumbuhan ekonomi.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of population size, dependency ratio, and Human Development Index on economic growth in North Sumatra Province during the period 2011–2025. The study used multiple linear regression with Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) estimation. The results show that population size has a positive and significant effect on economic growth; the dependency ratio has a significant negative effect; and the Human Development Index also shows a significant effect on economic growth. These three variables simultaneously have been shown to have a significant impact on economic growth.
