Abstract

This study investigates the role of structured mosque management in enhancing congregational prayer participation among rural Muslim communities, focusing on Syuhada Lo'ko Mosque in Janggurara Village. The primary objective is to assess how management strategies influence collective religious behavior in a local context. Utilizing a qualitative descriptive approach, data were collected through field observation, interviews with mosque stakeholders, and documentation review. The research employed inductive data analysis involving data reduction, presentation, and verification to interpret key patterns and themes.

Findings reveal that the implementation of planned religious programs, provision of supportive facilities, inclusive involvement of congregants in mosque governance, consistent da'wah and spiritual guidance, and effective communication with the community significantly increase mosque attendance. These elements collectively foster a sense of ownership, religious engagement, and social cohesion among worshippers. The study highlights the transformative power of participatory religious management in mobilizing community participation beyond traditional ritual practice.

This research contributes to the field of Islamic religious management by providing empirical evidence from a rural Indonesian context and emphasizes the necessity of context-sensitive, participatory approaches in religious institutional governance. Future research should examine the applicability of these findings in urban settings and develop performance metrics for digital mosque management systems.
