Tradisi Rambu Solo’ Pada Masyarakat Muslim Di Kecamatan Mengkendek Kabupaten Tana Toraja
Studi Manajemen Dakwah
Abstract
The central issue of this study is the Rambu Solo' tradition among the Muslim community in Mengkendek District, Tana Toraja Regency (a study of da'wah management). This central issue is broken down into three sub-problems: 1) How is the Rambu Solo' ceremony conducted among the Muslim community in Mengkendek District? 2) What are the views of the Muslim community regarding Rambu Solo’ in Mengkendek District? 3) What strategies does the mass organization NU employ regarding the Rambu Solo’ customary ceremony in Mengkendek District?
This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach. The qualitative approach was chosen because the research aims to gain a deeper understanding of the Rambu Solo' custom among Torajan Muslims, specifically in Mengkendek District. This approach grants the researcher the flexibility to comprehensively explore social and religious phenomena through interviews, observation, and documentation.
The research findings indicate that the Muslim community in Mengkendek District participates in Rambu Solo' by adapting the practice to align with Islamic values. Such participation is primarily social and cultural in nature—involving assistance with event preparations and the maintenance of social ties—without engaging in practices that conflict with Islamic creed; furthermore, da'wah efforts are not conducted confrontationally but rather through gradual guidance to preserve social harmony.
