Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation process of the Apparonrong Baju tradition and examine the application of a cultural da'wah approach within the tradition. The study employed a qualitative research design with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation involving religious leaders, traditional leaders, and community leaders, and were analyzed using qualitative techniques. The findings indicate that the Apparonrong Baju tradition is carried out through a series of customary rituals beginning with the recitation of dhikr and followed by cultural practices rich in symbolic meaning. The cultural da'wah approach is implemented through da'wah bil hikmah (wisdom-based preaching), mau'izhah hasanah (good and persuasive counsel), and da'wah bil hal (preaching through exemplary actions), which promote moral values, maturity, social solidarity, mutual cooperation, and social responsibility while preserving local cultural identity. The study concludes that the Apparonrong Baju tradition serves not only as a means of cultural preservation but also as an effective medium for integrating Islamic values into community life, enabling religious messages to be more readily accepted while strengthening cultural identity and social cohesion.
