Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation process of the akkattere tradition within the Kajang indigenous community in Bulukumba Regency, as well as to explain the application of sentimental da’wah strategies in minimizing deviations related to the akkattere tradition in the Kajang indigenous community of Bulukumba Regency. This research employs a qualitative approach, with data collection methods consisting of observation, interviews, and documentation. The research informants include Ammatoa as the traditional leader, Galla Puto, religious figures, village government officials, and community members who have carried out the tradition. The data were analyzed using descriptive qualitative analysis techniques through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that the implementation process of the akkattere tradition in the Kajang indigenous community of Bulukumba Regency begins with the preparation stage, while the process stage includes apparunrungi, appacidong ada’, akkatto salahi, akkattere, abbaca doang, adde’de’, and finally the distribution of dallekang. The application of sentimental da’wah is carried out through emotional and familial approaches toward the community, providing religious understanding persuasively, and respecting the local traditions existing within society. The sentimental da’wah strategy has proven to be more effective in indigenous communities that strongly uphold their traditions.
