Tinjauan Dakwah Kultural Pada Tradisi Maudu Lompoa Suku Bugis Di Dusun Pattene Kabupaten Maros
Abstract
This study aims to analyze cultural da'wah within the Maudu Lompoa tradition practiced by the community of Dusun Pattene, Maros Regency, as a form of internalizing Islamic values through a local cultural approach. This tradition is not merely understood as a commemoration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), but also as a medium for transmitting Islamic teachings in a contextual and socially adaptive manner. This research employs a qualitative method with a case study approach. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, and analyzed descriptively through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing, with triangulation used to ensure data validity. The findings indicate that the implementation of Maudu Lompoa includes religious activities such as dhikr, the recitation of Barzanji, collective prayers, as well as social practices including mutual cooperation and sharing. These activities embody the values of tawhid (monotheism), love for the Prophet, Islamic brotherhood, social solidarity, and moral education. From the perspective of cultural da'wah, this tradition functions as a dialogical and persuasive medium of preaching, in which the integration of Islamic teachings and local cultural symbols makes da'wah more communicative, effective, and sustainable without compromising the substance of Islamic creed and law. This study affirms that local traditions can serve as strategic instruments in developing a humanistic and locally grounded model of da'wah.
