Islamic financial inclusion remains a significant challenge in promoting equitable economic development, particularly among underserved Muslim communities. Although Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) possess substantial potential to foster local economic empowerment, empirical evidence on pesantren-based Islamic financial inclusion models remains limited. This study aims to examine the Islamic financial inclusion models implemented by Yaa Bunayya Islamic Boarding School and Hidayatullah Islamic Boarding School and to explore their contribution to expanding access to Sharia-compliant financial services. A qualitative case study approach was employed, with data collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis involving ten purposively selected informants, including pesantren administrators, managers of Islamic financial and philanthropic institutions, and service beneficiaries. Data were analyzed using an inductive approach through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the pesantren-based Islamic financial inclusion model operates through two complementary dimensions: Islamic commercial financial services and Islamic social finance. Commercial services are provided through the Micro Waqf Bank, Yaa Bunayya Mart, and Bank Muamalat mobile branch services, while social financial inclusion is strengthened through collaboration with Baitul Maal Hidayatullah in managing zakat, infaq, and sadaqah funds. This integrated ecosystem demonstrates how pesantren can effectively combine commercial and social Islamic finance to broaden financial access and enhance community welfare.
