In the current era of globalization, young children face the risk of losing their familiarity with local culture due to the dominance of foreign digital content. This study aims to describe the strategies for introducing local culture and the implementation of the Manasai dance as a medium of cultural education for children aged 4–5 years. Employing a qualitative approach with a single-case embedded design, the study involved 24 children from group A, one classroom teacher, one assistant teacher, and the principal of RA Al-Muslimun Nurul Islam Palangka Raya. Data were collected through participatory observation over three months, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. The analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model, incorporating source and technique triangulation as well as member checking. The findings reveal three main forms of local cultural introduction: singing regional songs (Isen Mulang and Ampar-Ampar Pisang), performing the Manasai dance and the Alusiau dance, and introducing the traditional Dayak attire. The Manasai dance is routinely conducted every Tuesday, involving a preparatory phase (setting objectives, preparing media and materials, and ensuring children's readiness) and a movement execution phase (consisting of three primary steps). Out of 24 children, 16 (66.7%) were able to follow all the dance movements adequately, while 8 children (33.3%) still experienced limitations in focus and motor coordination. This study concludes that the Manasai dance is effective as a medium for introducing local culture while simultaneously developing young children's gross motor skills, provided that adjustments are made regarding duration and movement repetition to suit children's attention spans.
