OPTIMIZING PERFORMANCE THROUGH ISLAMIC LEADERSHIP IN EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS
Abstract
Abstract
Islamic leadership is a leadership approach based on the values of the Qur'an and Sunnah, emphasizing justice, trustworthiness, and piety in carrying out duties and responsibilities. In the context of educational institutions, Islamic leadership not only serves as a foundation for decision-making but also acts as a driving force to create a harmonious, productive, and spiritually enriched work environment. This article discusses the significance of implementing Islamic leadership principles to optimize the performance of educators and staff in enhancing the quality of education. This study employs a qualitative approach using literature review and field observations to explore the application of Islamic leadership in educational institutions. The findings indicate that leaders who adopt Islamic values such as consultation (shura), sincerity (ikhlas), and exemplary behavior can motivate educators to perform at their best and contribute to institutional development. Furthermore, this approach positively impacts the cultivation of a work culture that integrates spiritual values with professionalism. The implications of applying Islamic leadership include improved individual and organizational performance, the establishment of harmonious work relationships, and the creation of a conducive and dignified educational environment. This article recommends strengthening Islamic-based leadership competencies among educational leaders and providing continuous training to ensure that Islamic values are embedded in every aspect of institutional management. Thus, Islamic leadership has the potential to serve as a strategic solution for optimizing the overall performance of educational institutions.
