This study aims to examine the influence of the director’s managerial competence and community participation on the quality of education at the Tahfizhul Qur’an Imam Asy-Syathiby Islamic Boarding School (Wahdah Islamiyah Gowa). This research employed a quantitative approach using an ex post facto method. The respondents of this study were all 50 staff members of the Tahfizhul Qur’an Imam Asy-Syathiby Islamic Boarding School, Wahdah Islamiyah Gowa. Data were collected through questionnaires. The data processing and analysis techniques used inferential statistical analysis to test the research hypotheses with the assistance of SPSS software. The results showed that the director’s managerial competence and community participation have a significant effect on the quality of education at the Tahfizhul Qur’an Imam Asy-Syathiby Islamic Boarding School, either partially or simultaneously. Thus, the synergy between the director’s managerial competence and community participation forms a collaborative strength that can sustainably improve the educational quality of the pesantren. This study implies that improving the quality of education in Islamic boarding schools needs to be carried out through strengthening the managerial capacity of leadership as well as expanding community participation in a structured, transparent, and sustainable manner.
