Abstract

This study aims to analyze interaction patterns within study groups on the learning motivation of students in the Islamic Guidance and Counseling Study Program at the Faculty of Da'wah and Communication, UIN Alauddin Makassar. Using a qualitative approach and a phenomenological case study design, this study explores the experiences of six students from different semester levels who have study groups. The results show that the interaction patterns formed within study groups that influence student learning motivation are associative interaction patterns and interpersonal interaction patterns. The associative interaction patterns formed consist of investment, assimilation, and acculturation interactions. Meanwhile, interpersonal interaction patterns consist of openness, mutual trust and respect, collaboration, and support. The results also show a correlation between the two interaction patterns formed with an Islamic perspective. The learning motivation from study groups formed through associative interaction patterns becomes a forum for sharing knowledge, unifying ways of thinking and communicating. Thus, learning motivation arises because of the creation of an inclusive and adaptive communication space. Interpersonal interaction patterns support academic success as well as the socio-emotional development of study group members. Positioning the established interaction patterns and then correlating them with religious terminology within the communication field is an effort not to demonstrate superiority or subordination, but rather to complement each other. Demonstrating urgency can also demonstrate the impact of effectively constructed interaction patterns while also having a theological foundation. Thus, associative and interpersonal interactions are not merely complementary to campus life, but are essential elements that foster sustainable and meaningful learning motivation. They are not solely focused on academic achievement but also serve as a form of worship.
