Author Guidelines

Welcome to JPF (Jurnal Pendidikan Fisika) Universitas Islam Negeri Alauddin Makassar. Please read the following guidelines carefully before submitting your manuscript. These guidelines aim to ensure a smooth and efficient submission process while complying with the principles of open access and academic integrity.

1. Manuscript Submission

  • Originality: Manuscripts must be original research that has not been published elsewhere and is not under consideration for publication in any other journal.

  • Language: Manuscripts can be submitted in either English or Indonesian (depending on the journal’s focus). Please ensure that the language of the manuscript is clear and precise.

  • Manuscript Length: The manuscript should be between 3-15 pages, written in Times New Roman 12, with 1.5 spacing and formatted in A4 size with 25 mm margins on all sides.

  • Manuscript Structure: Your manuscript must contain the following sections:

    1. Title: The title should be concise and reflective of the article's content.

    2. Abstract: The abstract should summarize the purpose, methods, findings, and conclusions of the research in 150 words. It must be written in English or Indonesian, depending on the manuscript language.

    3. Keywords: Provide 3-5 keywords that best describe the article's content.

    4. Introduction: Present the background, the research problem, and the objectives of the study.

    5. Methods: Clearly describe the research methodology.

    6. Results and Discussion: Present and analyze the findings in relation to existing research.

    7. Conclusions: Summarize the main findings and their implications.

    8. References: List all references in APA 6th edition format.

2. Copyright and Licensing

  • Copyright: Authors retain copyright over their work. Upon acceptance for publication, authors grant the journal non-exclusive rights to publish and distribute the manuscript in all forms and media.

  • Creative Commons License: All published articles are available under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0). This allows others to share, adapt, and use the content for any purpose, even commercially, provided they credit the original author(s) and source.

  • Data Sharing: Authors are encouraged to share their data, code, or other materials related to the research to facilitate reproducibility and transparency. Please ensure that all data is made publicly available, as per the journal’s open data policy.

3. Peer Review Process

  • Double-Blind Review: All submitted manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer review process, where both the authors' and reviewers' identities are kept anonymous.

  • Reviewer Selection: The journal selects reviewers based on their expertise in the subject area of the submitted manuscript.

  • Review Outcome: Authors will be notified of the review decision (Accepted, Minor/Major Revision, or Rejected) after the review process is completed.

4. Ethical Guidelines

  • Plagiarism: Submissions must not contain any form of plagiarism. The journal uses plagiarism detection tools to verify the originality of all submitted manuscripts.

  • Conflicts of Interest: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest, financial or otherwise, that could influence their work or the interpretation of their results.

  • Human and Animal Rights: If the research involves human or animal subjects, authors must ensure that ethical guidelines were followed, including obtaining informed consent and approval from relevant ethics committees.

5. Citation and References

  • Citation Style: All references should follow the APA 6th edition citation style.

  • Reference Tools: Authors are strongly encouraged to use reference management tools such as Mendeley or Zotero to properly format citations and bibliographies.

  • Recent Literature: References should primarily consist of academic sources published within the last 10 years to ensure that the manuscript is based on current research.

6. Manuscript Submission Process

  • Online Submission: Manuscripts must be submitted electronically via our Open Journal System (OJS) platform. If you do not have an account, please [REGISTER] on the system. Existing users may [LOGIN] to submit manuscripts.

  • Author Information: Ensure that you provide complete and accurate author information (full names, affiliations, email addresses) during the submission process. Additionally, include a short biography for each author.

  • Corresponding Author: The corresponding author will be the primary point of contact for all communication regarding the manuscript.

7. Open Access Policy

  • Open Access: The journal follows an open access model, meaning all articles are freely available to readers worldwide, without any subscription or access fees.

  • Article Processing Charge (APC): There may be an APC after acceptance for publication. This fee helps cover the costs of the editorial and publishing process. Fee waivers may be available for authors from low-income countries.
