About the Journal
DINUNA: Journal of Religious Studies is a peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to the critical and interdisciplinary study of religion in its many forms and expressions. The term Dinuna derives from the Arabic word dīn (دين), meaning "religion," with the possessive pronoun nāḥnu (نحن), meaning “our”—a reflection of the journal’s commitment to inclusivity, shared humanity, and the rich plurality of religious thought and experience.
The journal welcomes original research articles, critical essays, and thought-provoking reflections from scholars across disciplines. We encourage contributions that engage with theology, interreligious dialogue, comparative religion, and the dynamic relationships between religion and broader societal dimensions—including culture, gender, human rights, ecology, education, and politics.
DINUNA provides an open space for nuanced academic discussion, fostering respectful exploration of Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism, indigenous and diasporic traditions, and other religious or spiritual systems worldwide. We believe that religious studies should not only interpret belief systems but also engage with the lived realities and ethical challenges of our time.
All submissions undergo a double-blind peer review process to ensure scholarly integrity, fairness, and intellectual rigor.
We aim to serve as a bridge between diverse perspectives, offering a platform where differences illuminate rather than divide, and where scholarship becomes a tool for understanding and empathy.
