This study examines the representation of necropolitical space in the Syrian conflict as manifested in the Syrian poetry segment of Lī Bilādī, a multimedia poetic performance popularized through Faia Younan's YouTube channel. Employing Achille Mbembe's necropolitics framework, this study analyzes how the poetry represents the Syrian conflict as a space in which human bodies are continuously positioned in vulnerability and permanent proximity to death. Through qualitative textual analysis, three key manifestations of necropolitics are identified: war as an irrational mechanism of death, the destruction of social space and human relations, and the dehumanization of the human body. The findings reinforce previous scholarship on Syrian literature as a representation of civilian suffering, while expanding the study of necropolitics within contemporary Arab diasporic poetry that exists in multimedia and digital forms, where literature constructs collective memory and transnational experiences of conflict.
