Ethics Policy Commitment to Academic Publishing Integrity

The publication ethics statement of Ihyaussunnah: Journal of Ulumul Hadith and Living Sunnah, published by the Postgraduate Program of UIN Alauddin Makassar, is primarily adopted from the Elsevier Publishing Ethics guidelines and is benchmarked against Regulation of the Head of LIPI No. 5 of 2014. We uphold uncompromising standards of scientific integrity, objectivity, and transparency across all editorial stages.

4 Key Pillars of Publication Ethics

Duties of Authors Copyright & Originality Guarantee that manuscripts are entirely original, free from infringement, and include formal copyright clearance for any third-party materials. Indemnification & Liability Authors bear full legal responsibility and indemnify editors and publishers against any claims arising from copyright infringement.	Duties of Editors Fair Play & Decisions Independently select articles based strictly on intellectual merit without bias regarding race, gender, religious belief, origin, or ideology. Rigorous Review & Appeals Ensure timely peer review by at least two independent reviewers and maintain a transparent mechanism for editorial appeals via OJS.
Duties of Reviewers Strict Confidentiality Treat all received manuscripts as privileged documents; sharing materials or contacting authors directly without editorial approval is prohibited. Objectivity & Ethical Citation Provide constructive assessments without personal criticism; recommending citations to own work must serve genuine scholarly grounds only.	Duties of Publisher Guardian of Scholarship Safely preserve published scholarship and provide the editorial team with full operational, procedural, and legal support. Education & Collaboration Foster strong institutional networks, build solid channels with reviewers, and educate the academic community on publication ethics.

Misconduct Handling Workflow

Report Receipt of alleged misconduct report from reviewers, editors, or readers.

Investigation Preliminary evidence review and assessment headed by the Editor-in-Chief.

Clarification Issuance of official inquiries to secure written clarification from affected parties.

Sanctions Formal rejection, issuance of an Erratum, or publication of a Retraction.
