Peer Review Proces

The INSTEK Journal implements a double-blind peer review process to ensure the quality and integrity of each published article. Below are the detailed steps:

1. Submission

- Authors submit their manuscripts through the INSTEK Journal’s Online Submission System (OJS).
- Each manuscript receives a unique identification number.

2. Initial Editorial Screening

- The editorial team checks if the manuscript aligns with the journal’s focus and scope.
- The team also evaluates administrative completeness, originality (via plagiarism checks), and adherence to the submission guidelines.
- Manuscripts that do not meet basic requirements or are outside the scope may be rejected at this stage or returned for revision.

3. Double-Blind Review

- Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent to at least two expert reviewers.
- The identities of both authors and reviewers remain confidential (double-blind).
- Reviewers assess the manuscript’s overall quality, methodology, novelty of findings, and relevance to the journal’s scope.

4. Reviewer Recommendations

- After reviewing, each reviewer will recommend whether the manuscript should be: Accepted without revision, Accepted with minor revisions, Accepted with major revisions, or Rejected.
- The editorial team may seek additional reviewers or discussions in cases of conflicting reviews.

5. Author Revisions

- For manuscripts requiring revisions, authors must address all reviewer comments within a specified time frame.
- Authors should also provide a “response to reviewers” document explaining how each point was addressed.

6. Re-Review (If Needed)

- Revised manuscripts, especially those with major revisions, may be sent back to the reviewers or checked by the editorial team to ensure all comments have been satisfactorily addressed.
- If the revisions are deemed adequate, the manuscript proceeds to the next stage.

7. Final Decision

- The editorial team makes the final decision based on the reviewers’ feedback and the authors’ revisions.
- The final decision—Accepted or Rejected—will be communicated to the authors. This decision is binding.

8. Publication

- Accepted manuscripts move to the production stage, including layout editing and proofreading.
- Once finalized, articles are published online in the latest issue of the INSTEK Journal.

Time Frame

The entire review process typically takes 6–8 weeks, depending on reviewer availability and how promptly authors complete revisions. Efficient collaboration among authors, editors, and reviewers can help expedite the process.

Ethics and Confidentiality

1. All reviewers and editorial staff must keep the manuscript content confidential.
2. Reviewers are expected to provide honest, objective, and constructive feedback.
3. The editorial team may reject any manuscript if ethical or scientific misconduct (including plagiarism) is detected.

Through this process, INSTEK Journal aims to publish high-quality articles that make a significant contribution to the fields of informatics, science, and technology.
