Abstract
This study aims to examine the impact of the Labor Force Participation Rate (LFPR), the Human Development Index (HDI) for women, and the Expected Years of Schooling (EYS) for women on economic growth in North Sumatra Province during the 2013–2025 period. A quantitative approach using multiple linear regression was employed to test the causal relationships among the variables, based on secondary data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency. The analysis results indicate that the female HDI and ESL have a significant and positive impact on GRDP, underscoring the importance of the quality of female human resources in supporting regional economic growth. Meanwhile, the female LFR shows a positive but not statistically significant partial effect, indicating that the quantity of female participation alone is insufficient without improvements in the quality and structure of their employment. Simultaneously, all three variables demonstrate a significant influence on economic growth, with the model explaining over 96% of the variation in GRDP. These findings underscore the need for integrated policies to improve the quality of women’s education and health and expand access to formal employment in order to accelerate sustainable economic growth in North Sumatra.
