Abstract
Sharia pawnshops (Rahn) are innovative products from Islamic financial institutions that can not only be done at sharia pawnshops but can also be done in Islamic banking. In the implementation of sharia pawning (rahn) in Islamic banking, initially, they still applied a fee (fee) to the amount of the loan given at 4% which was allocated as income distributed to depositors and bank administration costs including insurance. In Islam, rahn (Sharia pawn) is mutual help (ta'awun) for Muslims without any reward for services. All done voluntarily without seeking profit as happened at the time of the Prophet. However, if you look at today's rahn (Sharia pawn) carried out in formal financial institutions that seek profit. This is certainly contrary to what was done by the Prophet Muhammad.
