Abstract
Employee productivity is a determining factor for the operational sustainability of manufacturing companies that rely on twenty-four-hour production continuity. This study aims to analyze the effect of the shift work system and Generation Z work ethic on employee productivity at PT. Lotus Indah Textile Industries, both partially and simultaneously. This research applied a quantitative approach with a causal-associative design. Data were collected through Likert-scale questionnaires distributed to Generation Z employees working in the shift system and analyzed using multiple linear regression with IBM SPSS Statistics version 26. The results show that partially the shift work system has no significant effect on employee productivity (sig. 0.540 > 0.05), while Generation Z work ethic has a positive and significant effect (sig. 0.000 < 0.05). Simultaneously, both variables significantly affect employee productivity (F value 39.884; sig. 0.000) with a coefficient of determination of 50.9%. These findings confirm that internal individual factors in the form of work ethic determine productivity more than working time arrangements, so companies are advised to prioritize fostering the work ethic of Generation Z employees without neglecting healthy shift rotation management.
