Abstract

Pawn comes from the Arabic language, namely al-rah}nu which means al-Tsubut-Ad-Dawam which is permanent and continuous. Pawn which in Arabic rahn can also be interpreted as al-habsu which means permanent and sustainable, it can also mean to maintain. The main problem of this research is How is the Practice of Pawning Gold at the Sharia Pawnshop of UPS Pasar Sentral Pinrang in a Review of Islamic Economic Law? The subject matter is further divided into several sub-problems or research questions, namely: 1) How is the Practice of Pawning Gold at the Sharia Pawnshop of UPS Pasar Sentral Pinrang?, 2) What are the provisions of Islamic Economic Law regarding Gold Pawnshops? ?. The results of this study indicate that: 1) In practice, gold pawning at UPS Pegadaian Syariah Pasar Sentral Pinrang uses a fast and practical financial system because there is no need to open an account or other procedures that are burdensome for customers. Enough to carry valuable personal items. It's just that there is still a need for thorough socialization from the UPS Pegadaian Pasar Sentral Pinrang so that all people know about the existence of the UPS Pegadaian Syariah Pasar Sentral Pinrang. 2) The provisions of Islamic Economic Law regarding pawning gold in this study are in accordance with Islamic principles and there is also no element of usury which makes people not have to hesitate to pawn their gold.
