Abstract
The rapid development of digital technology in the modern industrial era has transformed people’s transaction patterns from cash-based to cashless systems. This shift provides a significant opportunity for Islamic banking to innovate through digital Sharia credit cards, which not only offer convenience in financial transactions but also ensure compliance with Islamic principles. This study aims to analyze the prospects of developing digital Sharia credit cards in Indonesia and to identify the challenges in their implementation, particularly regarding regulation, financial literacy, technology, and security. The research employs a qualitative descriptive method with a literature review approach, referring to relevant studies and scholarly articles. The findings reveal that digital Sharia credit cards have great potential to expand financial inclusion and enhance the competitiveness of Islamic banks in the digital era. However, notable obstacles remain, such as cybersecurity risks, low levels of Sharia financial literacy, and regulatory as well as infrastructural limitations. Therefore, strengthening digital security, improving financial literacy, and ensuring clear regulatory frameworks are essential to encourage broader public acceptance and maximize the contribution of digital Sharia credit cards to the growth of the Islamic economy.
