Abstract
The Person in Environment (PIE) approach is an important method for understanding individual behavior in a social context. This study aims to explore the PIE concept in describing the mutually influenced interactions between individuals and their social environment. The discussion focuses on the relationship between the individual's internal aspects and external factors such as the social, cultural, and economic environment. The method used is a literature review that reviews various relevant scientific references. The analysis was conducted by examining theories, concepts, and previous research related to PIE and social interaction. This approach allows for a comprehensive understanding of the dynamics of the relationship between individuals and their environment.
The research findings indicate that individual behavior cannot be separated from its social context. Interactions occur dynamically and are reciprocal, causing individuals and the environment to shape each other. The PIE concept provides a comprehensive analytical framework for identifying social issues and designing more effective and contextually appropriate interventions.
These results emphasize the importance of an integrative approach to understanding human behavior. The application of the PIE concept has the potential to improve the quality of social analysis while supporting the design of sustainable intervention programs in various aspects of community life.
