Abstract

Poverty is a multidimensional social problem that is not only related to low income but also to limited access to education, healthcare, employment, and social services. This study aims to examine poverty from the perspective of social welfare, identify its contributing factors, and analyze poverty alleviation strategies in Indonesia. The study employs a qualitative method using a literature review approach, drawing data from books, journal articles, legislation, and official government publications. The findings indicate that poverty is influenced by various factors, including low human resource quality, limited employment opportunities, and unequal development. Poverty negatively affects the quality of life of individuals, families, and communities, thereby hindering the achievement of social welfare. Poverty alleviation efforts are carried out through government policies, social assistance programs, community empowerment, and the active involvement of social workers and social institutions. Therefore, collaboration among all stakeholders is essential to ensure that poverty reduction programs are effective, well-targeted, and sustainable in achieving social welfare.
