This journal publishes original academic research with the main topic of political studies in various countries, especially political studies in Indonesia. This journal specializes in studying political science in various countries and is intended to reveal original research and current issues. This journal warmly welcomes contributions from scholars from related fields considering the following general topics; Islamic Politics, Democracy, Islamic Social Movement, Election, Political Parties, Political Sociology, Politics and Government, and Local Politics.

The Jurnal Politik Profetik was first published in 2013 and in 2016 it was accredited with SINTA 4, and increased to SINTA 3 in 2021. As a follow-up to the ARJUNA assessor's input, in 2022 the Jurnal Politik Profetik collaborated with the Association of Indonesian Political Science Study Programs (Asosiasi Program Studi Ilmu Politik-APSIPOL) to help improve the quality of publications. One form of cooperation is the involvement of APSIPOL members as reviewers.

In 2023 a reaccreditation was carried out with the results remaining SINTA 3.

About the Focus

Since 2023, after reaccreditation, one of the ARJUNA assessor's notes is the focus of the study of the Jurnal Politik Profetik which from 2013-2022 still focuses on Islamic Political Studies. However, for 9 years the manuscripts submitted were dominated by pure political studies. Therefore, we agree with the assessors to change the focus of study from Islamic Politics to Political Science while still including Islamic Politics as one of the topics of study.

About the Template

Starting Volume 11 Number 1 Year 2023, the Jurnal Politik Profetik has made changes to the template by considering all ARJUNA Assessor input. Where in the old template, it did not include DOI, article history, licences and cite this article. In the new template, it includes DOI, article history, licence, cite this article, authors contribution, authenticity statement and biography. The new template has also changed the citation style from footnote to bodynote with APA Style model. This is done to make it easier for writers. Because previously, using their own style confused many authors. The paper size also changed from A4 paper size to B5 paper size. Likewise, the font that originally used Times New Roman, size 12, was changed to Candara font, size 11.

These changes were made as an effort to improve the quality of the article.
