Abstract

This article analyzes the Ponzi system from a Qur'anic perspective, particularly through a study of QS Al-Nisa/4:29. The Ponzi system is an investment scheme that promises huge profits in a short time by using funds from new investors to pay old investors, so it has no real source of profit. The research method used is qualitative research based on literature study with interpretive and sociological approaches. The results show that the Ponzi system contains elements of garār (uncertainty), zalim (injustice), and bāṭil (deception), which are contrary to Islamic principles in bermuamalah. Analysis of QS Al-Nisa/4:29 reinforces that wealth should not be obtained by false means, except through trade based on the principles of willingness and justice. Thus, the Ponzi system in Islamic law is categorized as a prohibited practice because it can harm many parties and cause economic instability.
