This research aims to analyze how part-time working students perceive, interpret, and internalize the concept of sustenance (rizq) in the Qur'an amidst their lived experiences of balancing study and work. It examines how students formulate the relationship between effort (ikhtiar), destiny (taqdir), and spiritual practices within their economic activities. A qualitative method with a phenomenological approach was employed, combined with thematic exegesis (tafsir maudhu’i). Empirical data were collected through in-depth interviews with undergraduate and postgraduate students involved in various part-time jobs, such as online drivers, baristas, mosque imams, tutors, and freelancers. The findings reveal that students' perceptions of the concept of sustenance align with the multidimensional Qur'anic framework, encompassing not only material aspects but also non-material ones such as health, time, knowledge, peace of mind, and social relationships. They redefine rizq not merely as income, but as every beneficial provision from God. Students demonstrate a balanced theological stance by rejecting fatalism, while simultaneously affirming that effort is a human obligation, whereas the final outcome lies within Divine authority. Furthermore, students integrate what they term "spiritual technology" into their work lives, such as hard work, piety, prayer, dawn charity (sedekah subuh), helping others, and positive thinking toward God (husnuzzan), which they believe influences the blessing and flow of rizq.
