This study aims to analyze Bugis community admonitions (wejangan) in choosing a marriage partner in Lilirilau District, Soppeng Regency, from a Qur’anic perspective. This research employs a qualitative method with interpretive, cultural anthropological, and sociological approaches. Data were obtained from religious figures, community leaders, and Bugis elders, while data collection techniques included observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis was conducted through data collection, reduction, presentation, conclusion drawing, and the researcher’s direct participation in the field. The findings reveal that Bugis admonitions in partner selection function as pre-marital guidance, social and moral control, and a medium for integrating customary values with Qur’anic teachings. These admonitions do not emphasize the technical aspects of marriage but rather aim to cultivate ethical and spiritual awareness prior to marriage. Their expressions are reflected in values such as honesty, honor (siri’), perseverance, hard work and responsibility, as well as empathy and care, which are in harmony with Qur’anic principles.
