Relevansi Pemikiran Syekh Musthafa Husein Nasution terhadap Pengelolaan Pertanian dan Lembaga Keuangan Mikro Syariah

This study aims to explore the economic thought of Sheikh Musthafa Husein Nasution and its implications for improving the economic welfare of the community surrounding the Musthafawiyah Islamic boarding school (pesantren) in Mandailing Natal Regency. Utilizing a qualitative field research approach with a descriptive method, data were collected through in-depth interviews with the pesantren's caretakers, teachers, and local residents, supported by relevant literature. The findings reveal that Sheikh Musthafa Husein was not only an Islamic educator and scholar but also a pioneer in promoting an economic model based on agriculture and Islamic microfinance institutions grounded in Islamic values. His ideas were deeply rooted in Islamic principles concerning the importance of reason, knowledge, and collective effort in achieving economic justice and social welfare. The practical impact of his thoughts can be seen in the improved quality of life and increased economic independence of the community around the pesantren. This research reinforces the view that Islamic boarding schools serve not only as centers for religious education but also as catalysts for socio-economic development based on Islamic principles.
