Pemberdayaan Masyarakat Melalui Agroeduwisata dalam Pningkatan Ekonomi Lokal di Desa Pakatto Kecamatan Bontomarannu Kabupaten Gowa

Abstract

The main problem of this study is how community empowerment through agro-edu-tourism contributes to improving the local economy in Pakatto Village. The research questions include: (1) how community empowerment in Pakatto Village is carried out through agro-edu-tourism to enhance the local economy; (2) the potential, benefits, and development of agro-edu-tourism in improving the local economy; and (3) the role of the community and government in developing agro-edu-tourism in Pakatto Village. This study employs a descriptive qualitative research design with a case study approach. This approach is used to understand the process of community empowerment through agro-edu-tourism based on real conditions in the field. Primary data were obtained through observation and in-depth interviews with village officials, agro-edu-tourism managers, micro, small, and medium enterprise (MSME) actors, local communities, and visitors. Secondary data were collected through village documentation and relevant literature, including books and academic journals. Data analysis was conducted through stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that community empowerment through agro-edu-tourism in Pakatto Village has involved active community participation in managing agricultural land potential, developing micro-enterprises, and utilizing agricultural products as educational tourism attractions, thereby increasing income and economic activities of the community. The potential, benefits, and development of agro-edu-tourism include the agricultural, plantation, and livestock sectors, which are utilized as educational facilities, environmental conservation efforts, and means to enhance the local economy through the sale of agricultural products and processed goods. The development of agro-edu-tourism is supported by the role of the village government through policies, assistance, and collaboration with relevant stakeholders, while the community acts as the main actor in planning, implementation, and management, ensuring sustainability as a means of local economic empowerment. The implications of this study are: (1) the need to enhance community assistance and training in managing agro-edu-tourism and its supporting businesses; (2) the expectation that the village government and managers expand cooperation and marketing networks for community products; and (3) the need to increase community involvement, particularly among housewives and village youth, in the development of agro-edu-tourism.
