Pedestrian pathways constitute one of the essential elements of urban circulation. They should be designed to provide a sense of safety, comfort, and attractiveness for pedestrians. This study aims to assess whether the pedestrian pathway along A. Yani Street in Peunayong meets the required comfort and safety attributes according to pedestrians’ needs. The research employs a qualitative method through direct observation and behavioral mapping using the place-centered map technique. The findings indicate that a significant portion of the pedestrian area is occupied by non-pedestrian activities, such as vehicle parking and the placement of merchandise, which negatively affect pedestrian comfort and safety. This study recommends the implementation of stricter regulations and educational efforts targeting business operators in the area to ensure that the pedestrian pathway functions optimally.
