1. Introduction
The manuscript should be prepared by the author carefully and proofread to minimize content or typographical errors. The manuscript is formatted in a single-column layout and does not use numbering for its sections. The font used is Cambria, size 11,5, for the entire document. All paragraphs should be justified. Do not leave a blank line between paragraphs. Avoid presenting a single paragraph that contains only one sentence.
Given the scope of the architectural research journal, the author should carefully prepare the manuscript accordingly. Therefore, it should be noted that the sections in the title, the first sentence of the abstract, the first paragraph of the introduction, objectives, problems, discussion, and conclusion should each be closely related to architectural aspects.
The page count is limited to a maximum of 3 pages and presented without other subheadings. The introduction should be prepared concisely, showing the “state of the art” of the manuscript content. The introduction includes the background of the problem, including information on previous research results, problem formulation, and research objectives. This section should be supported by a review of primary references (journals) to provide information on the novelty of the manuscript. It is required that around 80% of the references used are primary (journal) and recent references (within the last 10 years).
The introduction does not contain a specific literature review sub-section. If there is a calculation section, it should be included as part of the method. The problem formulation should be written in a narrative format, not with a list of problem formulations. The presentation format uses declarative sentences, not questions. Objectives should be written in a narrative format within the paragraph and not using a numbered list. The objectives can be summarized into a more informative single sentence according to Syam (2005).
2. Title, Author Name, and Address
The article title, author name (without academic degree), and the author's affiliation address are centered on the first page under the article title. The line spacing between the title and author name is 2 spaces, while the spacing between the author's affiliation address and the abstract title is 1 space. Keywords should be written below the abstract text for each language, arranged alphabetically, and separated by semicolons, with a total of 3-5 keywords. For articles written in Indonesian, write the English title translation at the beginning of the English abstract text (see the example above).
The corresponding author must be marked with an asterisk followed by a comma “1)” as shown in the example above. At the bottom of the first page/abstract column on the left side, the corresponding author and email address must be provided (see example). Communication about article revisions and final decisions will only be communicated through the corresponding author's email.
If there are multiple authors, write the authors' names separated by commas (,). If the author's name consists of two words, the first name should not be abbreviated. If the author's name consists of only one word, write the actual name in one word. However, in the online (HTML) version, it will be written in two words containing the same name (repeated) for metadata indexing purposes (Camdali & Tunc, 2006; Fridman, 2008).
3. General Manuscript Writing Guidelines
Manuscripts that meet the journal's writing guidelines (in MS Word format, using this article template) must be submitted through one of the following methods:
- Submission using the Online Submission System on the E-Journal Nature portal ( http://journal.uin-alauddin.ac.id/index.php/nucturenature) after registering as an Author and/or Reviewer by the journal manager.
- Submission via E-mail to the Editorial Journal of Nature ([email protected])
- Submission the draft along with the Author's Statement
Writing guidelines and templates can be downloaded from the following address:
Template and Article Writing Guidelines in MS Word
Online submission guidelines can be seen in the Online Submit Guide section below. Manuscripts that do not meet the journal's writing guidelines will be returned to the author before proceeding with the review process.
Manuscripts must contain the following scientific article components (subheadings in order): (a) Article Title, (b) Author Name (without degree), (c) Author's Affiliation Address, (d) Abstract and Keywords, (e) Introduction, (f) Materials and Methods, (g) Results and Discussion, (h) Conclusion, (i) Acknowledgements (if any), and (j) References.
Subheadings in the article content (Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results and Discussion, and Conclusion) should be numbered in sequential Arabic format starting from one. Subheadings are written in bold in Title Case format and left-aligned without an underline. Sub-subheadings are written in bold in Sentence case format, left-aligned, and use level two numbering.
Manuscripts can be written in Indonesian or English, with a maximum page count of 10 pages, including figures and tables. Manuscripts must be written according to this article template in a ready-to-print (camera-ready) format. Articles must be written on A4 paper size (210 x 297 mm) with left, right, bottom, and top margins of 1.9 cm. Manuscripts must be written in Cambria font, size 11,5 pt (except for the article title, author name, and abstract title), single-spaced, and in a single-column format (except for the article title, author name, and abstract). The column spacing is 10 mm.
Foreign words or terms are italicized. Avoid using foreign terms for articles written in Indonesian. New paragraphs start 10 mm from the left margin, while no space is left between paragraphs. All numbers are written in Arabic numerals, except at the beginning of a sentence.
Tables and Figures are placed within the text group after the table or figure is referenced. Each figure should have a figure title (Figure Caption) below it, numbered in Arabic numerals followed by the figure title. Each table should have a table title (Table Caption) and be numbered in Arabic numerals above the table, followed by the table title. Figures must be ensured to print clearly (font size, resolution, and line size must be ensured to print clearly). Figures and tables, and diagrams/schematics should be placed according to the column width within the text group or centered on the page if too large. Tables should not contain vertical lines, while horizontal lines are allowed but only the essential ones.
4. Specific Guidelines for Manuscript Content
Article Title: The Article Title should be written concisely and clearly and should accurately indicate the issue to be discussed, without leaving room for various interpretations, and written entirely in capital letters symmetrically. The article title should not contain uncommon abbreviations. State the main idea of the article first, followed by other explanations.
Introduction: Given the scope of architectural research journals, authors should carefully prepare the manuscript accordingly. Therefore, it should be noted that the sections in the first paragraph of the introduction, objectives, problems, discussion, and conclusion should each be closely related to architectural aspects.
Materials and Methods: This section should at least contain information such as Time and Location, Procedures, and Data Analysis. If necessary, the Procedures section can also include other parts. The research time should be specified. The location section can include a clear location map. The research procedures should be written in a clear narrative. Avoid presenting research procedures using schemes. Data analysis should be detailed.
Results and Discussion: This section begins with an introductory paragraph about the results. Authors should organize this section systematically to assist the reader. The format of this section should not separate the results and discussion. Data presentation should include final results, without raw measurement data. If the author considers raw data necessary, it should be provided as an appendix.
Conclusion: The conclusion should be transformed into general statements and not contain a recapitulation of research data. This section should not restate the research data presented in the previous sections. If there are suggestions, they should be included as part of the discussion or as part of the conclusion. Conclusions should be formatted in a paragraph and not using a numbered list. The introductory sentence in the conclusion should be removed.
References: All references cited in the article text must be listed in the References section. The References section should include primary sources (scientific journals) that account for at least 80% of the total references, published within the last ten years. Each article should contain at least ten references. The referencing system in the article text and the writing of the reference list should preferably use reference management applications such as Mendeley or Zotero.
5. Guidelines for Writing Equations
Each equation should be centered and numbered, with the number written in parentheses and placed at the right-hand margin. Equations should be written using Equation Editor in MS Word or Open Office (Primack, 1983).
6. Guidelines for Writing Citations/References in the Article Text
Whenever data is taken or statements are quoted from other literature, the source must be cited. Citations are written in the text using the author's name and year (Irwan and Salim, 1998). If there are more than two authors, only the first author's name is written followed by "et al." (Bezuidenhout et al., 2009; Roeva, 2012). All references cited in the text must be listed in the References section, and vice versa, everything listed in the References must be cited in the text (Wang et al., 2011).
7. Guidelines for Writing the Reference List
All references cited in the text of the article must be listed in the References section. The References section should contain primary references (scientific journals and should account for at least 80% of the total references) published within the last 10 years. Each article must have at least 20 reference listings.
Writing Guidelines for Reference Lists should use reference management applications such as Mendeley. The writing format used in the Nature journal is according to the APA Style 7th edition or above
