Perbandingan Konsentrasi Teat Dipping terhadap Kondisi Mastitis Sapi Perah

Mastitis is one of the major diseases in dairy cattle that significantly impacts milk productivity and quality. This study aimed to compare the effectiveness of two iodine-based Teat dipping concentrations (ProDIP C) on mastitis conditions in Central Lampung Regency, Lampung. The research was conducted from August 2025 to February 2026 using two barns: barn RB 03A (concentration 1:5 as control, active iodine 0.83%) and barn RB 03 (concentration 1:8 as treatment, active iodine 0.56%). Samples were collected from 20 lactating cows via teat swabs before and after Teat dipping. Parameters measured included Total Plate Count (TPC), mastitis incidence rate, and types of causative bacteria. Data were analyzed using the Shapiro-Wilk and Mann-Whitney tests. Results showed the 1:5 treatment produced a mean TPC reduction of 86.34 ± 8.90%, significantly higher than the 1:8 treatment at 49.37 ± 26.32%. Mastitis incidence was 2% in the 1:5 group and 8% in the 1:8 group, with more diverse bacteria, including Staphylococcus saprophyticus, Escherichia coli, and Klebsiella spp. detected. The 1:5 concentration is recommended as the standard teat-sanitation practice on dairy farms.
