Pendampingan Berbasis Service Learning dalam Penguatan Kelembagaan Majelis Taklim Masjid Nurul Iman Bangkala Makassar

Abstract

Majelis taklim is a non-formal Islamic educational institution that plays a strategic role in religious guidance and community empowerment. However, many majelis taklim still face challenges in institutional aspects, particularly in unstructured organizational management. This community service activity aims to describe the initial conditions, identify needs, and implement Service learning-based assistance at Majelis Taklim Masjid Nurul Iman located in Bangkala, Manggala District, Makassar City. The method used is Service learning with five stages: investigation, planning, action, reflection, and demonstration. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results show that before the assistance, the majelis taklim did not yet have a clear organizational structure and decision-making was heavily dependent on the chairperson. After the assistance, the majelis taklim successfully formed a mutually agreed organizational structure, the division of tasks became clearer, and member involvement in activity management increased significantly. This activity provides reciprocal benefits: students gain contextual learning experience, while the partner gains institutional capacity strengthening. Service learning-based assistance proved effective as a community service approach that promotes the independence of community-based religious organizations.
