GEMABAKTI II: Edukasi Ekoliterasi melalui Pembuatan Produk Ecobrick di UPT SPF SMP Negeri 28 Makassar, Pulau Barrang Lompo

Permasalahan sampah plastik di wilayah kepulauan memerlukan penanganan yang tidak hanya bersifat teknis, tetapi juga edukatif. Kegiatan pengabdian GEMABAKTI II bertujuan memberikan edukasi ekoliterasi kepada peserta didik melalui pemilahan sampah dan praktik pembuatan ecobrick. Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada 17 Juli 2023 di UPT SPF SMP Negeri 28 Makassar, Pulau Barrang Lompo, dengan melibatkan 190 peserta didik kelas VII–IX. Pelaksanaan mencakup survei dan koordinasi, penyuluhan mengenai dampak sampah plastik, pemilahan sampah, demonstrasi dan praktik pembuatan produk, serta evaluasi proses melalui pengamatan keterlibatan peserta dan ketercapaian produk. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan seluruh kelompok dapat mengikuti tahapan pemilahan dan pemadatan plastik serta menghasilkan tiga jenis produk, yaitu tempat sampah dari botol bekas, bangku ecobrick, dan meja ecobrick. Kegiatan ini menyediakan pengalaman belajar kontekstual yang menghubungkan pengetahuan tentang sampah plastik dengan tindakan pengelolaan sederhana. Karena kegiatan tidak menggunakan pretest–posttest atau instrumen ekoliterasi terstandar, hasilnya diposisikan sebagai capaian proses dan produk, bukan bukti kuantitatif peningkatan ekoliterasi. Keberlanjutan program memerlukan pendampingan guru, pemilahan sampah rutin, dan evaluasi terukur pada kegiatan berikutnya.
