Publication Ethics and Malpractice Statement
Mazahibuna: Jurnal Perbandingan Mazhab
Mazahibuna: Jurnal Perbandingan Mazhab (Mazahibuna: Journal of Madhhab Comparative) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics and integrity. This statement follows the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) Core Practices and complies with international indexing standards, including Scopus and Web of Science.
All parties involved in the publication process—editors, reviewers, and authors—are expected to adhere to these ethical principles. Any form of publication malpractice, including plagiarism, data fabrication, falsification, citation manipulation, and redundant publication, is strictly prohibited.

1. Ethical Oversight
- The journal ensures ethical oversight of all stages of publication.
- Allegations of misconduct are handled in accordance with COPE guidelines.
- The journal is committed to maintaining the integrity of the scholarly record through:
- Corrections (Erratum/Corrigendum)
- Retractions
- Expressions of Concern
- Editorial decisions are independent and free from external influence.
2. Peer Review Process
- All manuscripts undergo a double-blind peer-review process.
- Reviewers are selected based on expertise and absence of conflicts of interest.
- Evaluation criteria include:
- Originality
- Methodological rigor
- Academic contribution
- Clarity and readability
- Relevance to the journal scope
- Final decisions are made by the Editors based on reviewers’ recommendations.
3. Publication and Authorship
- Manuscripts must be original and not under consideration elsewhere.
- Duplicate or redundant publication is strictly prohibited.
- Authorship must reflect substantial scholarly contribution.
- All authors must approve the final version of the manuscript.
- Any changes in authorship must be approved by all authors and the Editor.
- The journal does not accept:
- Guest authorship
- Honorary authorship
- Ghost authorship
4. Authors’ Responsibilities
Authors must:
- Ensure the originality of their work and proper citation of sources.
- Provide accurate and reliable data; raw data may be requested.
- Avoid plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, and citation manipulation.
- Disclose all conflicts of interest (financial or non-financial).
- Acknowledge funding sources and institutional support.
- Ensure ethical approval for research involving human participants (if applicable).
- Notify the Editor promptly if significant errors are found after publication.
5. Reviewers’ Responsibilities
Reviewers must:
- Maintain confidentiality of all manuscript information.
- Provide objective, constructive, and timely reviews.
- Avoid personal criticism of authors.
- Identify relevant work not cited by the authors.
- Report suspected ethical issues (e.g., plagiarism or duplication).
- Declare conflicts of interest and decline review when necessary.
6. Editors’ Responsibilities
Editors must:
- Ensure fair, unbiased, and timely manuscript evaluation.
- Base decisions solely on academic merit and relevance.
- Maintain confidentiality of submissions and reviewer identities.
- Avoid conflicts of interest and recuse themselves when necessary.
- Act on suspected ethical misconduct appropriately.
- Maintain the integrity of the academic record.
7. Conflicts of Interest
- All authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose any conflicts of interest.
- Conflicts may include financial, institutional, or personal relationships.
- Undisclosed conflicts may result in rejection or retraction.
8. Data Availability and Transparency
- Authors are encouraged to include a Data Availability Statement.
- Where possible, data should be deposited in recognized repositories.
- The journal supports transparency and reproducibility of research.
9. Handling Allegations of Misconduct
- The journal follows COPE procedures in handling ethical issues.
- Investigations will be conducted fairly and confidentially.
- Possible actions include:
- Manuscript rejection
- Article retraction
- Notification to institutions
- Serious violations may result in submission bans.
10. Copyright and Licensing
- Authors retain copyright.

11. Complaints and Appeals
- Authors may appeal editorial decisions with valid justification.

12. Post-Publication Discussion and Corrections
- The journal encourages academic discussion after publication.
- Errors will be corrected through:
