Publication Ethics
ComWel: International Journal of Economic and Business Empowerment is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice. This statement is based on the principles and guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and serves as a guideline for editors, reviewers, and authors involved in the publication process.
Ethical Responsibilities of Editors
Editors are responsible for deciding which submitted manuscripts should be published based on their scholarly merit, originality, relevance to the journal’s focus and scope, and contribution to knowledge.
Editors should evaluate manuscripts fairly and solely on their intellectual content without discrimination based on race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy. Editors must maintain the confidentiality of submitted manuscripts and ensure a fair, unbiased, and timely peer-review process. Editors should avoid conflicts of interest and refrain from using unpublished materials disclosed in submitted manuscripts without the author's explicit written consent.
Ethical Responsibilities of Reviewers
Peer reviewers assist editors in making editorial decisions and help authors improve the quality of their manuscripts.
Reviewers should provide objective, constructive, and timely reviews. They must maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts, identify relevant published work that has not been cited, and inform editors of any substantial similarity between the manuscript under review and other published works. Reviewers should decline to review manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest.
Ethical Responsibilities of Authors
Authors are expected to present accurate and original research and comply with ethical standards throughout the publication process.
Authors should submit original work and appropriately cite the work of others. Manuscripts must not have been published previously or be under consideration by another journal simultaneously. Authors are responsible for presenting data accurately and honestly, acknowledging all funding sources, disclosing conflicts of interest, and ensuring that all listed authors have made significant contributions to the research.
Authorship and Contributorship
Authorship should reflect substantial contributions to the conception, design, execution, analysis, or interpretation of the study. All listed authors must approve the final version of the manuscript and agree to its submission for publication.
Plagiarism Policy
ComWel does not tolerate plagiarism in any form. All submitted manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software before entering the review process. Manuscripts found to contain plagiarism, self-plagiarism, or improper citation practices will be rejected or returned for revision.
Conflict of Interest
Authors, editors, and reviewers must disclose any financial, institutional, personal, or professional relationships that may influence the interpretation or evaluation of a manuscript.
Corrections, Retractions, and Withdrawals
The journal will publish corrections when significant errors are identified. Articles may be retracted when there is clear evidence of research misconduct, plagiarism, unethical research practices, or major errors that invalidate the findings. Retraction notices will be published to ensure the integrity of the scholarly record.
Ethical Oversight
The editorial board reserves the right to investigate allegations of ethical misconduct before and after publication. Appropriate actions will be taken in accordance with COPE guidelines and accepted scholarly publishing standards.
Publisher's Commitment
The publisher and editorial team are committed to ensuring that editorial decisions remain independent of commercial interests and that all published content upholds academic integrity, transparency, and ethical publishing practices.
