Implementing Mahārah al-Kalām in Bilingual Islamic Boarding Schools: A Multi-Site Case Study in Kudus, Indonesia

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh masih rendahnya kemampuan berbicara bahasa Arab (Mahārah al-Kalām) di sebagian pesantren bilingual, meskipun lingkungan belajar dan sistem kebahasaan telah tersedia. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis penerapan Mahārah al-Kalām, mengidentifikasi faktor pendukung dan penghambatnya, serta merumuskan strategi pengembangan pembelajaran di pondok pesantren bilingual Kabupaten Kudus. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan jenis penelitian lapangan (field research). Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi pada tiga pondok, yaitu Tahfidz Modern Al-Aqsho, Darun Najah, dan Nurul Qur’an MAN 1 Kudus. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keberhasilan pembelajaran Mahārah al-Kalām ditentukan oleh tiga aspek utama: lingkungan bahasa yang disiplin (bi’ah lughawiyyah), peran guru sebagai model komunikasi, serta kebijakan lembaga yang konsisten. Hambatan utama ditemukan pada faktor psikologis santri dan keterbatasan media pembelajaran digital. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, penelitian ini menawarkan roadmap strategi penguatan Mahārah al-Kalām melalui integrasi pendekatan komunikatif, pelatihan guru, dan pemanfaatan teknologi pendidikan yang berkelanjutan.
