Journal History
Al-Daulah: Journal of Criminal and Constitutional Law is published by the Constitutional Law Study Program at the Faculty of Sharia and Law, Universitas Islam Negeri Alauddin Makassar, Indonesia. The journal benefits from strong institutional support and aligns with the university's academic and research mission. Established in 2012 with an initial focus on print publication, it transitioned to an online format through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) platform in 2017. In 2019, it was recognized as a nationally reputable journal with a SINTA 4 classification, and in 2023, it strategically repositioned itself for international recognition by forming an international editorial board.  The editorial leadership has evolved under the guidance of distinguished legal scholars, beginning with founding editors Nila Sastrawary and Subehan Khalik, and is currently led by Editor-in-Chief Prof. Arskal Muin Salim, GP, who was appointed in 2023. The international editorial board comprises esteemed scholars from various countries, ensuring a global perspective while upholding rigorous peer review standards. The journal has made a significant impact, accumulating over 1,600 total citations across academic databases and more than 100 citations in Scopus-indexed publications. It maintains a meticulous double-blind peer review process and publishes biannually, including special issues focused on emerging legal topics.
Al-Daulah is committed to strict confidentiality regarding author and reviewer information. It utilizes personal data acquired during the manuscript submission process solely for editorial and publication purposes and does not share this data with third parties. The journal adheres to international data protection standards and maintains secure systems for managing sensitive information.
