Copyright & Licensing
ETERNAL is committed to supporting the broad dissemination, responsible reuse, and long-term accessibility of scholarly work. The journal therefore provides authors with clear rights over their work while making published articles openly accessible to the research community.
Copyright
Authors retain the copyright of their published articles.
By submitting a manuscript to ETERNAL, authors confirm that they have the necessary rights to the work and that the manuscript is original, has not been published elsewhere, and is not under consideration for publication by another journal.
Authors grant ETERNAL the right of first publication and a non-exclusive right to publish, reproduce, distribute, display, and make the article available online as part of the journal's scholarly publishing activities.
Copyright remains with the authors unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Open Access Licence
Articles published by ETERNAL are made available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence (CC BY 4.0).
Under this licence, readers may:
- Share — copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format; and
- Adapt — remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, including commercially,
provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author(s), a link to the licence is provided, and any changes made to the original work are indicated.
The CC BY 4.0 licence supports the wide dissemination and reuse of research while requiring appropriate attribution to the original authors.
Author Rights
Authors retain the right to:
- retain copyright in their published work;
- share and disseminate the published article;
- deposit the article in institutional or subject repositories;
- use the article for teaching, research, and educational purposes;

Authors should ensure that any third-party material included in their article is appropriately credited and that the necessary permission has been obtained where required.
Attribution and Reuse
Anyone reusing material published by ETERNAL must provide appropriate attribution to the original work.
At a minimum, attribution should identify:
- the author(s);
- the title of the article;
- ETERNAL as the original publisher;
- the publication details and DOI, where available; and
- the applicable Creative Commons licence.
A recommended attribution statement is:

Users should also indicate whether changes have been made to the original material.
Third-Party Material
Authors are responsible for ensuring that they have the necessary rights to reproduce photographs, figures, tables, instruments, datasets, quotations, or other material belonging to third parties.
Material that is not covered by the article's Creative Commons licence should be clearly identified, together with any applicable copyright or permission information.
The publication of an article by ETERNAL does not automatically grant users permission to reuse third-party material contained within that article.
Copyright and Editorial Decisions
Copyright ownership and licensing arrangements are separate from the editorial decision-making process.
The decision to accept or reject a manuscript is based on the journal's editorial criteria, including scholarly quality, relevance, originality, methodological or conceptual rigor, and contribution to the field. Copyright or licensing arrangements do not influence peer-review or editorial decisions.
Licence Information
Each published article will display the applicable copyright and licence information on its article page and, where appropriate, within the published article.
