About the Journal

Aims & Scope

Al-Khazini: Jurnal Pendidikan Fisika is a peer-reviewed journal published twice a year (April and October) by the Department of Physics Education, Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, Alauddin State Islamic University Makassar. The journal serves as a communication platform for researchers, academics, and practitioners to discuss and explore empirically relevant issues in physics education.

Scope

Al-Khazini: Jurnal Pendidikan Fisika covers a wide range of topics, including:

  1. Improvement of physics learning techniques
  2. Development of physics evaluation instruments
  3. Creation of physics learning media
  4. Development of physics learning models considering local wisdom and enriched with religious and cultural principles
  5. Theoretical and current contributions in applied physics
  6. Integration of religious and cultural values in physics-related research
  7. Application of physics in various fields such as technology, engineering, medicine, and the environment
  8. Encouragement of research that integrates religious and cultural values in physics applications

Peer Review Process

The journal operates a double-blind review, both the authors' and reviewers' identities are concealed. The Editor performs an initial evaluation to check for adherence to the journal's guidelines and relevance. If the paper doesn't meet these criteria, it may be rejected at this stage. Once the paper passes the initial evaluation, the Editor selects at least two independent experts in the field to review the manuscript. They provide feedback on strengths, weaknesses, and suggest improvements. The reviewing process takes up to three weeks from the date once the reviewers are assigned. We ensured that the reviewers were not influenced by the authors' reputation, institution, or any other personal information. Throughout the process, the identities of both the authors and the reviewers are kept confidential. After the review, the authors receive feedback, comments, and recommendations for revisions from the reviewers. In cases where manuscript revisions are deemed necessary, authors are strongly encouraged to promptly address the identified issues to facilitate acceptance for production.

Final Decision: The Editor, considering the reviewers' comments and the revised manuscript, makes a final decision on whether to accept, reject, or request further revisions. The decision is communicated to the authors along with the reviewers' comments. The Editorial members, however, reserve the right to make the final decision.

Publication Ethic

Al-Khazini: Jurnal Pendidikan Fisika. We appreciate your contribution in disseminating knowledge and scientific information. As an author, you are expected to adhere to the publication ethics guidelines established by our journal, in line with the principles advocated by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Below are the guidelines you need to follow:

  1. Suitability of Manuscript:
    • Ensure that your manuscript aligns with the scope and objectives of our journal, particularly in the field of physics education.
    • Avoid misuse or unethical duplication of publications. Each manuscript should be an original work that has not been previously published.
  2. Writing Format:
    • Follow the formatting guidelines established by our journal. Ensure that your manuscript meets the writing requirements such as structure, style, and recommended writing format.
    • Include a clear abstract, relevant keywords, and a comprehensive list of references according to the prescribed writing style.
  3. Writing Ethics:
    • Avoid plagiarism by providing accurate citations and proper referencing to relevant sources.
    • Ensure that all authors contributing to your manuscript are appropriately acknowledged and have made significant contributions to the research.
  4. Copyright and Permissions:
    • Ensure that your manuscript does not violate the copyrights of others. If using copyrighted material, ensure that you have obtained the necessary permissions and provide evidence of these permissions to us.
    • The full responsibility for any legal claims related to copyright or other ethical violations rests with the authors.
  5. Publication Agreement:
    • After acceptance for publication, authors are expected to provide a publication agreement stating that the manuscript has not been previously published and is not under consideration for publication by any other journal.
  6. Communication with the Editorial Office:
    • Always be prepared to communicate with the journal's editorial office if necessary, including providing clarifications or corrections related to your manuscript.
  7. Acceptance and Revision:
    • After submission, please be patient while awaiting the editorial decision. If your manuscript is reviewed, you are expected to respond promptly to any suggestions for improvement or revisions provided by the reviewers.
