Conflict of Interest Policy

Conflict of Interest Policy

Jurnal Diskursus Islam
In accordance with national accreditation standards (SINTA) and COPE guidelines, Jurnal Diskursus Islam requires all authors, reviewers, and editors to declare any actual, potential, or perceived conflicts of interest that could inappropriately influence or bias the research work, peer review, or editorial decisions.
1. Author Disclosure Requirements

Corresponding authors must explicitly declare any relevant conflicts of interest on behalf of all co-authors upon submission. Potential conflicts include:

  • Financial Interests: Research grants, funding sources, consulting fees, employment, stocks, honoraria, or patents related to the research.
  • Non-Financial Relationships: Institutional affiliations, personal relationships, professional rivalries, or direct ideological commitments affecting objectivity.
  • Statement Requirement: If no conflict exists, authors must state: "The authors declare that there are no conflicts of interest regarding the publication of this manuscript."
2. Reviewers and Editorial Board Responsibilities
  • Peer Reviewers: Reviewers must decline the invitation if they share recent institutional affiliations, research collaborations, personal relationships, or direct academic rivalry with any author.
  • Editors: Editors recuse themselves from handling submissions authored by colleagues from their immediate department, close collaborators, or family members. Submissions authored by editors are managed independently by other editorial board members.
  • Confidentiality: Unpublished information obtained through the review process cannot be used for an editor's or reviewer's personal advantage.
Breach of Policy: If an undisclosed conflict of interest is discovered before or after publication, the editorial board follows COPE flowcharts to investigate. Consequences may include immediate manuscript rejection, formal erratum, or article retraction.
