The current environmental crisis indicates that environmental degradation is caused not only by technical factors but also by the moral and ethical dimensions of human interactions with nature. From an Islamic perspective, the concept of tawhid serves as a theological foundation that emphasizes the inseparable relationship between God, human beings, and the natural environment as an integrated whole. This study aims to analyze how the Nabundong Forest community in Aek Godang Village, North Padang Lawas Regency, understands and implements the values of tawhid as the foundation for the development of environmental ethics. This study employed a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentation involving religious leaders, community leaders, and local residents. The findings reveal that an understanding of tawhid fosters the community's religious awareness of the importance of forest conservation. This awareness is reflected in the wise and sustainable use of forest resources, as well as in the strengthening of social norms that encourage collective responsibility for protecting, utilizing, and preserving the environment in accordance with Islamic values.
