About the Journal

Komodifikasi: Jurnal Ilmu Komunikasi (p-ISSN 2355-2492 | e-ISSN 2579-3969) is a peer-reviewed, open-access scientific journal published by the Department of Communication Science (Program Studi Ilmu Komunikasi), Faculty of Da'wah and Communication, Universitas Islam Negeri Alauddin Makassar, Indonesia. The journal was first published in print in 2014 and online in 2015. After a publication gap from 2020 to 2022, it resumed with Volume 11 (2023) and is now published twice a year, in May and November. See the Journal History for details.

The journal publishes original research articles, theoretical articles, and critical reviews across communication science: communication theory, development communication, marketing communication, corporate communication and public relations, government communication, political communication, risk and crisis communication, and digital communication and digital media. Manuscripts are accepted in Indonesian or English. Whatever the language of the manuscript, the title, abstract, and keywords must be written in English; Indonesian-language articles may add an Indonesian abstract. Every submission is screened for similarity and reviewed through a double-blind peer review process by at least two reviewers. The journal charges no submission or publication fees, and all articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0).
