Correction, Retraction, and Withdrawal
Komodifikasi: Jurnal Ilmu Komunikasi is committed to maintaining the integrity and completeness of the scholarly record. Changes to published articles are made only under the circumstances below and in accordance with the COPE Retraction Guidelines.
- Erratum (publisher correction): corrects errors introduced by the journal during production.
- Corrigendum (author correction): corrects errors made by the authors that affect the accuracy of the article but not its core conclusions. The corrected article is republished with a correction notice.
- Expression of concern: issued when there are well-founded concerns about an article that cannot yet be resolved.
- Retraction: issued when findings are unreliable due to misconduct or honest error, when the work constitutes plagiarism or redundant publication, or when it reports unethical research. The retracted article remains online, marked as retracted, with a bidirectionally linked retraction notice.
- Article removal: only in exceptional legal circumstances (e.g., defamation, infringement of legal rights, or a court order), with a removal notice left in place.
Withdrawal of submitted manuscripts
Authors may withdraw a manuscript before an editorial decision by sending a written request signed by all authors to the editor. Withdrawal after the manuscript has been accepted or entered production is strongly discouraged, wastes the voluntary work of reviewers and editors, and will be granted only for compelling reasons. Submissions to other journals while a manuscript is under consideration constitute unethical behavior.
