Allegations of Misconduct
Research misconduct includes fabrication, falsification, citation manipulation, plagiarism, undisclosed conflicts of interest, and improper authorship in proposing, performing, reviewing, or reporting research. Komodifikasi: Jurnal Ilmu Komunikasi takes all allegations of misconduct seriously, whether they concern submitted manuscripts or published articles, and follows the COPE flowcharts in handling them.
- Allegations may be submitted by anyone to the Editor in Chief at [email protected]. The journal will protect the identity of the complainant where appropriate.
- The editors first assess whether the allegation is consistent with the definition of misconduct and whether the complainant has a conflict of interest.
- Where misconduct is possible, the corresponding author is informed and asked to respond on behalf of all co-authors. The editors may seek additional expert opinion and may contact the authors' institution.
- Depending on the outcome, the journal may reject the manuscript, publish a correction, an expression of concern, or a retraction, and may notify the authors' institution. Decisions are communicated in writing to the parties involved.
